Landauer was a Jewish department store that was sold to a German employee, Adolf Schleehauf in 1936. Schleehauf paid a fair price and, because of that, was also subject to boycotts as a "Judenknecht" (Jewish lackey). The Stterlin writing on the tin is to appear more German. I am unsure what this small tin was originally for. I assume some sort of food stuff, like tea or bullion
