Radon is a cancer-causing, odorless, radioactive gas. You cannot see, smell or taste radon, but it is a problem in many homes. The Surgeon General has warned that radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States. If you smoke and your home has high radon levels, you’re at high risk for developing lung cancer. Radon is a naturally occurring gas and comes from the natural breakdown (radioactive decay) of uranium. It is usually found in igneous rock and soil, but in some cases, well water may also be a source of radon.
Elements offers radon testing with continuous radon monitors (CRM) that allow for hourly readings and immediate short-term (minimum 48 hrs) test. We also offer mitigation solutions for homes with high radon levels.
